Compared to Alpine Touring in Switzerland, skiing on the high-altitude snow-capped mountains in western Sichuan is much more challenging. Dawaliangzi, only about a 6-hour drive from Chengdu, is the best destination for Alpine Touring on the mountains accessible by car from Chengdu.
